Course Description

• Identification of commonly found planes and their uses
• Identification of essential plane restoration tools and equipment
• How to disassemble and reassemble a bench plane
• Cleaning and restoration of plane components
• Flattening, grinding, and sharpening of the plane blade and preparation of the back iron
• Flattening the sole of the plane
• Plane and blade adjustment

The workshop is hands on, and participants need to bring along a complete plane they wish to restore.

All required tools, jigs and materials will be provided for your use during the course

Location – TTTG Workshop at the rear of Old Eastwood Town Hall, 74 Agincourt Rd, Marsfield (Next to
Mars Pizza shop). Enter the Workshop from the path at the rear right-hand side of the carpark.

Workshop Fee $70 - payment in advance is required numbers limited to 8 persons reserve your place early.

SAFETY – sturdy, closed shoes with leather uppers are required in the workshop.
Please bring your own safety glasses and any additional PPE you may wish to use on
